Let me explain something. This garment is a deliberate act — I won't say "achievement," the word is doing quite enough work already across the chest.
The vintage collegiate motif is, of course, a pastiche. Reappropriated. The distressed lettering, the laurel, the little emblem with its bowling ball rendered like some devotional object — it all gestures at institutional prestige while meaning absolutely nothing of the sort, and that is precisely the point. Reactionary iconography, worn ironically. The strong will find it amusing.
The cloth itself is Airlume cotton — soft, breathable, honest against the skin. I appreciate a fabric that does not pretend. It drapes without insisting, which is more than one can say for most people. It reads well under denim, or alone; either way it suggests a person who moves at their own considered pace and answers to no one, least of all a schedule. Heh. I find that quality rare, and rather admirable.
Wear it on your long walks. Your slow mornings. Your afternoons given over to a film. It is, in the end, a very comfortable joke, and the comfortable jokes are the only ones worth committing to fabric.

- Do not dry clean. It's unnecessary, and frankly a little vulgar.
