The fine print
What we collect, why, and how we keep it chill. No selling your data, no creepy stuff.
Last updated: 7/17/2026
We collect the stuff we need to send you a shirt, answer your questions, and keep the lights on — and nothing we don’t. We don’t sell your personal information. We’re not in the business of being creepy. Here’s the whole picture, laid out honest.
This site, What Would The Dude Do? (operated by Lo-Fidelity Media, “we,” “us,” “the Dude”), is responsible for the information described here. Questions about privacy? Email us at hey@whatwouldthedudedo.com.
When you chat with the Dude, the messages you send are passed to our AI provider (Anthropic) so it can generate a reply. Treat that chat like a conversation at a bar, man — please don’t type anything sensitive (passwords, financial details, health info, or anything you’d hate to see leave your hands). We use the chat to run and improve the feature; our provider handles that data under its own terms.
We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used (via tools like Google Analytics, Meta, and similar). You can control or clear cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as well without them. If you’re in a region that requires a cookie banner, we’ll show one and honor your choices.
We share information only with the service providers who help us run the shop — and only what they need:
We do not sell your personal information.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of marketing or certain data uses. Folks in the EU/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) have specific rights along these lines. To exercise any of them, just email hey@whatwouldthedudedo.com and we’ll take care of it. To stop marketing emails, hit “unsubscribe” in any of them.
We hold onto your information for as long as we need it — to fulfill your order, meet tax and accounting rules, and run the business — and then we let it go. Order records are typically kept for 7 years for tax purposes.
We use reasonable measures to protect your information (HTTPS, reputable processors, access controls). No method is bulletproof, though, so we can’t promise perfect security — nobody honestly can.
This site is for grown-ups. It’s not directed to children under 13 (or 16 where that’s the rule), and we don’t knowingly collect their info. If you think a kid gave us data, email us and we’ll remove it.
We sometimes link out to other places (like our podcast host or social pages). Once you leave here, their privacy practices are on them, not us.
We’re based in the United States and process data here. If you’re visiting from elsewhere, you’re cool with your info being handled in the U.S.
We’ll update this page when things change and move the “last updated” date. Big changes, we’ll flag more loudly.
Privacy questions, requests, or just want to talk about the rug: hey@whatwouldthedudedo.com.
